| David Vokac has been a full-time travel writer since 1983 and has written eleven travel guidebooks in addition to travel articles. He was born in Chicago and grew up on a ranch near Cody, Wyoming. He taught classes in land economics while completing a master's degree in geography at the University of Arizona. In Denver, he was in charge of economic analysis for community renewal, and in San Diego he was in charge of park development for unincorporated villages. |
Joan Vokac, co-author of The Great Towns of America, second edition, was born and raised in New Jersey. She has a bachelor's degree from Bucknell University and a Master's degree from the University of Michigan. She completed a thirty-year career as a planner for unincorporated towns in San Diego County. For the past four years, Joan has been working with David in writing and revising the "Great Towns" series, and is the webmaster for www.greattowns.com. |
