north of Main Street
Eureka Springs, Arkansas
The entire downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Blocks of well-preserved Victorian buildings ranging from multistory brick-and-limestone landmarks to wood-trimmed cottages house an impressive array of art and crafts galleries, specialty shops, restaurants and lodgings. Stone walkways, tree-lined pathways, architectural flourishes, pocket parks, fountains and sculpture, trolleys and horsedrawn carriages add to the charm. A remarkable system of trails connects the Crescent Hotel and downtown Eureka Springs. Wooded dirt paths give the impression of being in a wilderness, though you're actually right in the heart of town.
