A stately home (circa 1879) next to the historic residential neighborhood is now an elegant bed-and-breakfast in a garden. Full breakfast and afternoon wine are complimentary as are weekend vintner tastings. By advance reservation, a one-hour (fee) “wine pleasures course” is a good introduction to touring and tasting in Napa Valley. Each beautifully furnished room is individually decorated, including quality antiques, gas fireplace, soaking or whirlpool tub. The “Roma Suite” has a marble gas fireplace and an oversized whirlpool in the bedroom’s Victorian bay alcove. The “Carducci Suite” is spacious, and features a marble gas fireplace, and in-bath whirlpool.
