Mountain Lake Lodge, one of the region’s best motor lodges, is perched high on a bluff overlooking Flathead Lake. A waterfall-zero-gravity pool with a panoramic lake view, and whirlpool in a large garden court with a rock fountain; mini-putting green; and an exercise room are features, along with fine dining and a sports bar. Each unit (studio or one-bedroom) is beautifully furnished and has a refrigerator and microwave, wet bar, and gas fireplace. Many also have a private balcony with lake and mountain view, and a two-person whirlpool.

At Terra (Breakfast and Dinner), a short selection of entrees features Montana elk medallions and buffalo flank steak as well as contemporary American classics like wild broiled salmon and Angus New York steak with cucumber horseradish sauce served with potatoes, bacon and blue cheese souffle. Casually elegant table settings and a window-wall view of Flathead Lake and mountains, plus distinctive wall art, contribute to notable fine dining. An expansive dining balcony shares the view. Riley’s Pub (Lunch and Dinner) offers casual contemporary American fare in a handsome sports bar setting with lake and forest views.
